Independent Living with Telecare

As people get older they want to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible.

Care Direct 24/7 can support this by providing Assistive Technology Solutions to deliver the most appropriate individualised care package through innovative sensors, designed specifically to meet the needs of the individual.

Telecare for independence & peace of mind.

One of the simplest forms of TeleCare is a personal alarm.

Telecare in its simplest form consists of a base unit & pendant, which is also referred to as a lifeline, social alarm, panic button, personal alarm. The pendant can be worn around the neck or on the wrist.  The base unit is small and compact and can sit on your telephone table, bedside locker, kitchen work top or can be easily wall mounted.

Care Direct 24/7 Personal Alarms / Lifelines gives users the freedom to live independently in their own home, safe in the knowledge that if there is an accident or they have a fall, they can get help quickly.

Independence when you want it, help when you need it

At the touch of a button friends or family can be alerted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering peace of mind and reassurance.

When you press the button on the base unit or press the button on the wireless pendant a call will be made to our 24 hour monitoring centre, which is staffed by trained operators 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You will be able to talk with one of the operators even if you cannot get to your phone, as the base unit has a built in microphone to amplify speech. The base unit has two way speech, enabling you to talk to one of our operators and them to talk directly with you.

The operator will be able to identify you, assess your situation and get you the help you require. If it’s a false activation, you don’t need to worry as our operators are happy to speak with you and to ensure that everything is alright.

Our TeleCare service includes 24-hour monitoring 365-days-a-year, staffed by professional, experienced and caring staff providing and a rapid response to difficulties arising.

Alongside the base unit & pendant there are a large number of TeleCare peripherals including a wide range of sensors, detectors, monitors and alarms tailored to individual need. These might include motion sensors that will detect if an individual has fallen, sensors to detect environmental dangers such as fire or carbon monoxide fumes, sensors which detect when a door has been opened or the provision of a bogus caller alarm to alert when there is a stranger at the door.

More than 90% of people say they want to live independently in their own homes for as long as they possibly can. One way in which we can support them to do this is by using technology enabled care services to deliver the most appropriate levels of care through innovative products, designed to meet the needs of the individual.
